Title: Show those Twin Cams
Post by: Rodney_C on March 06, 2009, 08:17:01 AM
I figured I'd start a picture thing like the ol shovel guys did on the little section, so everybody get your pics uploaded and start showin them off.

normally I would agree, but most of the HD engine specific categories has a "show your  X" sticky.  I see no harm in showing pictures of TC's in the TC section.

I bought my Supertrapp already coated. It's been on there a coupla years, and still looks new. When dirty, it looks pretty dull, but when clean it has a nice satin finish to it. I'm real happy with it.

SE PRO 4 3/8 crank w/ Darkhorse PRO PLUG and balance

SE PRO heavy duty clutch spring
SE PRO Variable Pressure pressure plate
Hydraulic clutch conversion
Custom shift linkage, to allow either foot or tank shift with hand or foot clutch. This allows left side disabled riders to ride
Custom bellcrank assembly converts pattern to toe down or tap back upshift
I am just now finishing the shuttle valve hydraulic mounting and different foot clutch pedal
Next summer, I will look at doing a mirror mount for the front brake to convert the front end to dual disk, and Vulcan de-rake kit with rear lowering to keep the bike level, and slightly more handle bar pull back.
I built the motor from a 2002 Softail, so I still have the original motor. I did the trans work two years ago, and the shift assembly went through many iterations. My bud owns a fab shop, so I did it in paper, cardboard, Masonite, and finally plywood. When I felt it was right, I tweeked the CAD layout, and gave it to him to laser cut in steel. I will fine tune the design come spring, as I break the motor in.

There are some really great looking bikes on here and you can tell the amount of time invested. Awesome rides.

Here is my 09 FatBob. The frame, tins, and trans are still stock, everything else is changed or modified.

That's a beautiful Shovel. I grew up on the back of my dad's 86" '75 FXE & obviously have fond memories of the iron I got to see running around back then. The Dyna does such a good job of mimicking the look of the 4-spd bikes that I couldn't go anywhere else but retro. I don't go for all that billet, "high tech" stuff & unnecessary bling & prefer a low key, understated kinda vibe.

Thanks Hoss,
Its a shame the rear wheel rotor & belt pully can't be seen. But I didn't want to half do it.
And with a motor like that I thought the bike just needed a nice look.
most the $ is in the motor, can't see it but you can feel it.

Barrett,
A good friend painted a one of a kind for me. I wanted to have a black bike still so it was about placement.
He said it was a learning experience. He has done some nice work on bikes But nothing like this.
He goes by (liquid_wizard) on Instagram.
You can see some of his work. I believe he has a facebook page under Jim Q.
He has a gift I wish I had.

Well After being tortured by my 1990 Electra Glide, chasing down leaks & gremlins in the EVO for 2 years (down to painting now) I decided to pull the trigger on a new(er) Harley. So finally my 2 up riding 1984 Touring Yamaha Venture Royale is being put out to pasture. I just picked up a sweet 2016 Road Glide Ultra with only 3,100 for $16K.

Started life as a 01 Road King..... it was wrecked when I bought it... So I built it as a Road Glide... 124" 45Mik 640ez's Pro Pipe.. Bags were extended by using 2 sets.. One good and another damaged set.. They are the older type made from fiberglass... Rear fender is a OEM fender.. 2 of them actually.. added the length by cutting and adding the 2nd fender.. then sectioned it to make it wider.. frenched in a lic plate pocket with hidden led lic plate plights. front fender is a OEM fender with 1" removed from the width. Rivets welded and filled.... Bike is actually Red.. not black... Its House of Kolor Kandy. Wildcherry..

That looks great without the bags! (Though they are necessary often.) I might have to consider another one in my future. You have that looking good, just not enough miles...

Took the photo just after we got it off the van yesterday. Bags were off so we could tie it down.

Two owners - elderly gents - before me and way, way too few miles.

Some of you who remember me might know I started this bike around 5 years ago. I've broke off and worked on a few truck projects, and also ended up with a troublesome Shovelhead that still isn't running right. This year I will get back on this project. I have all the parts to finish it except some wiring. It's not at all finished yet, there are changes I need to make before I want to ride it. But here it is. A 2004 95" Twin Cam Rigid.

My 08 FXSTC.  Originally a 96" now a 103" via a Zippers Kit.  ThunderMax ECM too.  Made all the difference in the world.
Corbin Seat and Buck Horn bars.  I like the hand position of the Buck Horns.
Floor Boards were adapted to it as a result of cancer and my having foot/leg issues from the radiation.

My 2011 RGU 120X home built from a 2013 MOCO crate engine. Sheet and specs are in the dyno section and about 20,000 hard miles on the 120 now.  LOTS of fun every time I ride it.  So much that I had to invest in a GrudgeBox and RB Racing swingarm / chain drive conversion.  Touch wood, it's all better now.  :teeth:

Here's the specs (https://harleytechtalk.com/htt/index.php/topic,99409.msg1162057.html#msg1162057) .

Anyway this was a 2009 Ultra Classic, besides the fairing change, the rear frame section is the same from '09 & up, so it has 14+ rear fender, bag supports, bags, and tour pack mount, bars are from a '17 RG, painted it myself with House of Kolor Candy Brandywine, street glide seat modified by me

Just picked this 2016 Heritage Softail, had been kept in an a/c mancave most of its life. It had 4000 miles on it. The color is purple Fire / Blackberry Smoke , it goes from a dark violet to the almost magenta color ,  Im retiring in two months, so this was my retirement present to me !!
