Just finished zipping this bike up tonight. I'll give all the details on here so I can just copy and paste them into the dyno section after Bob Lobenberg tunes her up!

2009 FLHX 117" 11:1 compression (ccp not yet checked)
Fuel Moto 117" jugs, pistons and cylinders (Delkron with CP pistons)
Don Dorfman did the heads with his "pro" headwork package
Don also did the S&S crank install, Timken conversion and bored the cases
Cycle-Rama 595i chain drive cams in S&S tc3 pump and plate
WFO Larry lifters (2313SE)
Fuel Moto pushrods (Smith Bros.) adjustable
SE 58mm throttle body with 5.3 injectors
Rush Wrath with 2.5" baffle
SE diaphragm spring with VPC

Started her up tonight and all is quiet and smooth. Valve train is very, very quiet!
Mean idle! Didn't touch the throttle (per dons instructions) so idle is all I know this far till Bob breaks her in and tunes her up!

If your curious of anything else or I missed a detail let me know. I'm very excited about this build!

IIRC Fuel Moto pushrods are Smith Brothers.

838, did you have CVO 110 heads ported or were they the stock heads from your 96"?
What size valves and combustion chamber size?  Reason I'm asking is I'm going to do 117", but I don't know if I should have ported to use CVO 110" heads or stock 2006 newer 88", 96", 103" heads.

CR 595I cam
Open      Close  Lift    Duration    TDC Lift
INT   18   46   .595     244   .182
EX   57   17   .575     250   .154

Stock 96 heads
1.80" intake 7mm stem
1.575" exhaust 7mm stem
CCs about 86 to 88
intake port about 1.62"
exhaust port about 1.60"
Spring seat pressure about 120 lb.
intake flow about 210 to 220 cfm @28
exhaust flow about 180 to 190 (IIRC too lazy to check)
Springs / heads will support 0.590 lift.

Congrats man!  Keep us posted.  Everything I see with that cr-595 cam looks great with the right compression and headwork.  Still looking at doing my 107/110 build.  But now I'm researching 110 to a 117 build with no bottom end work...

Depends on what your expectations are. At 117" 11:1 with that cam and the right pipe and a big enough throttle body there would be no significant difference. The added airflow potential is not needed, yet. 300-305 cfm for my pro heads and that is done with light 7mm valves so a significantly lighter conical spring gets the job done. Easier on lifters, less noise. If I was involved we would be talking about the bottom end. A pinched rod will take the motor out and likely send metal everywhere.  Preventable and not that costly. Timken is an option but not mission critical.

This originally started as a 107" build with CR575. I got a good deal on a set of 110" bolt on cylinders. At 110" with the CR 575 I was already weary of the bottom end so I swapped the 110" cylinders for some 117"s, and had don do the bottom end work.

Really curious to see how yours turns out dyno wise. In my 2015 CVO Road Glide we just did the Suburban speed drop in 117 kit with the Mahle +6.6 pistons WFO Larry CVO 110 wet heads 95 cc, Larry's lifters with Smith Bros adjustable push rods, Pistons .008 in the hole, The kit came with .040 head gaskets so we swapped to .030 head gaskets to compensate for the .008, A CR595i cam. Stock crank was @ .0045 pinion run out so we put an S&S crank with 2 lefty bearings, It was not a plan to split the cases or I would have used the S&S cylinders & bored the cases. S&S plate, pump & cam chain tensioners. SE 58mm TB with 5.3 injectors. Harley Chisel ac. Dragula 2 with 2.55 baffle. Baker DD7 & added Bakers new double timken main drive gear.  Built broke in & tuned by Heath @ H and D Cycle in Lillian Al.  TTS Tuner
Not quite as much left side torque as I was hoping for but awesome in general. I'll post a sheet soon.  It went  134.69 HP & 130.74 Torq with 103 Ft lbs @ 2500, 124.36 torq @ 3150 torq curve is really flat coming down to 125 ft pds @ 5500.
Cheers Bob

Heath is a good guy, he tuned my bike.
I seen your bike on the lift last week when I was there. Good looking bike.

CCP came in at between 200-205 for both front and rear (my gauge only has 5psi incremental  markings).

Tune is a week from today.

My compression gauge had a leaky o-ring. Compression actually reads 210/210.

Pistons are -1.5cc CP Carrillo, zero decked with a .030 head gasket. 86cc chambers on the heads.

Results are posted in the dyno section.

Don't do it...a proper 117" is too much of a risk on an untouched bottom end....you've been warned.
