Just removed check valve ball and spring,ball had a flat on it and was attached to the spring,BUT as I was cleaning it out another ball came out??? Manual only shows one,so I just put the round ball back with the spring as shown in the Harley manual,
Maybe that was some shade tree fix for a bad or improper spring. Find a new spring and see if it's any different or better than what you have. If so, buy it and use it.
