Title: M8 114 Head Temp
Post by: icebite1 on January 23, 2019, 05:46:51 AM
Just got '19 FreeWheeler with 114 engine in December. Installed PowerVision Basic with stock improved map. Just wanted to monitor things for a few thousand miles befor  I added mods. Runs great . What im seeing tho is head temps 300+ almost 100% all the time, a big jump from my twin cams. Is this normal for the air/oil cooled M8s?

It is common, and head temp will be a few degrees hotter than engine temp, due to head design/sensor placement.

Thanks, I was hoping that would be the answer.

What temps were you seeing on your TC?

Also the head temp reading on a TC was not the actual temp, it was some calculation. I believe the M8 is actual head temp.

I do have the wifes '10 StreetGlide Trike with a built 107" and TMax tuner with me so just went out and checked its head temp logs. Its hangs most of the time from 264* to 272*
