Title: 99s2 cyclone
Post by: 99s2buell on June 07, 2012, 05:48:06 AM
I replaced the rocker box gaskets, i followed the manual to the job i finished up went to start the bike it had a knocking noise in the front rocker box. so i pulled it apart again down the lifters thing it was a lifter, bought two new lifters installed them reassembled everything started the bike the same knock was present. i started reading stories online on this subject and it seems to be very frequent problem? i have a stupid question; is it possible to mix up the rocker boxes while doing the work and install them backwards? i do not beleave i did that, i have changed out rocker box gaskets before on late shovels and early evos! what is causing this knock can any one help!

cant help.  i ride one but  it never breaks.
if iron head would know...lol...
look for any contact marks around work completed.
unless a weird concidence it has to be something you did.

first question i used to ask in shop is what did you do last.
what did on line sites say was cause of the fequent problem?
good luck and let us know what the sucessful outcome is.
