Title: removing charcoal cannister
Post by: stafford on November 16, 2020, 05:41:58 PM
I have an 07 883 that came from california. It's developed an oil leak at the rear of the engine. The charcoal cannister is in the way and I'd like to remove it and get it out of the picture. If any of yall have done this I'd appreciate any advice you could send my way. I'm a little concerned about what to do with the gas line that come from the tank.
Thanks, Stafford

I haven't done it on an '07, but on my '93 I simply routed that line from the tank down to ground.  One important thing to remember when you remove the canister and associated hoses is that you need to plug the nipple on the carb - one of those hoses connect to the carb (the "system" pulls a vacuum from the carb).

I realize that it'll need to be stopped up but will it cause any codes or anything  or issues with it running. what about the  line from the tank?
