  Has anyone one here tried one of those (around) $100 new CV or super E carbs I see on ebay?
  Any thoughts?

Chinese copies I believe and don't work very well.
Buy one and let us know how your bike runs  :potstir:

Stick with an original.

I have one on my Sportster. While I would agree with stick with the genuine article, I've not had any issues with this knock off at all. Maybe I'm just lucky, but don't really have anything bad to say about it.
