Title: 1974 XlCH Fuse Panel
Post by: Maxlee on October 28, 2014, 11:15:01 AM
Can someone please tell me where the fuse panel is on a 1974 XLCH Sportster.  I have looked in the owners manual and the shop manual but cannot seem to find out where it is located.

Thank you.

I don't have one in the Boy's '75!
If I go look...It will be inside the headlight housing where I expect to find a Turn signal flasher unit, and maybe a Breaker...
Looking...
In the mean time...what prob. are you diagnosing??

74 stock XLCH should have no fuse panel, but there should be 3 circuit breakers mounted to the rear of the upper frame under the seat.

lol...yep.
and they don't work well.
my day one (2 hours ride) 1974 sportster while I was showing off downtown started smoking about the handle bars.
then rest of wiring followed.
trailered to shop.
not a fun day after just paying like $ 2800  for it that day.
they tried not to warrantee it and I had fun watching them look for it being something I did.

they "fixed" it but when I got it back I wired it myself....

my first of many bad h.d. non warrantee problems.
yet I keep buying the junk.
