Title: 1974 Sportster XLCH Grounded the battery taking it out last fall.
Post by: Maxlee on March 04, 2015, 10:21:02 AM
Hi,

I was trying to be sure NOT to ground the battery when taking it out last winter.  But alas, somehow it touch the bike and sparked.  Getting ready in a few weeks to try to start it up for spring.  Any advice on determining beforehand if I did any damage?  Would fuses just reset?  Thoughts anyone?  ARGH!!!

Thank you.

Next time unplug the main (maxi) fuse.
So there are no surprises when you go to start the bike, why not grab an ohm meter and check all the fuses.
Just for peace of mind.
I doubt you caused any harm.
Just saying.
