Title: M8 cams
Post by: Sunny Jim on December 15, 2019, 06:03:50 AM
I am keen to here back from anyone using the Andrews 464. It seems to have a reasonably long exhaust event compared to others.
I suspect it would be well suited to a low comp 124 with the right exhaust!

There doesn't seem to be much discussion on any of the Andrews

Would have been nice to see more on the 462 as well or is this aimed at more cubes as well?
(love the idea of a lovely flat torque curve, was the only time I've seen it mentioned)

Not a lot of promotion of some out there, like Chris Rivas Rocket cams 464, 474, although the 544 is now in the dyno section

Don't forget the S&S 475 either, I have that cam along with an S&S Sidewinder and love it.

Yes the 475 is proven. I believe the 464 has a nice idle and tunes particularly well, given. The righ application.

Jim what you mean by nice idle, lope or no lope ?
avoiding the 475 here as not a fan the lope, had a 107/RS468 ran great but the idle, guess i'm just more for the even pattern cam

I prefer less lope!

I like a staccato style idle, like an alcohol motor. To me, it says "horsepower".

To the tune of 1000 plus per cylinder. That's all the drug I need.
