Title: Finally made it to the track
Post by: speed limit on October 19, 2016, 12:10:06 PM
Seems my bad ass Road King street bike isn't as fast as I thought, I ran a best of 11.66 @ 108, dialed in @ 11.80 my slowest was a 12.06. I need to be 11.teens or better to be competitive in bagger grade racing. The first 1000' I could stay out front but the newer bikes would catch me at the traps

No worries....95% of street bike guys who go to the track the first time find that out. Wasn't there a bagger recently with a 143" who went to the track and ran 11's? Wake up call, but first time jitters are past you now and you can deal with your weak link set up issues now.
Seat time at the track is priceless, and you find out real quick what you need to work on.
Anyway...congrats on actually going to the track and making a pass, which the bar stool jockeys and laminated dyno sheet crowd at bike night only dream or make excuses about.
Faster times ahead.

 Congrats!! Don't be disappointed, an 11 second street bagger is no slouch, and you WILL get quicker with more seat time.

11.66 on a road king for a street bike IMO is pretty good! ............ also your MPH looks pretty low at 108 ........... So I would think there is a lot left in it!

What you have for a rear tire? ........
