Anybody know what this bracket on the frame is for? Can I cut the bottom part off?

I had already cut the top part off to clear a set of fat bob tanks, but scrapped that plan and had to weld it back on for a springer seat mount. No idea what the bottom part is for. Motor mount bracket from past incarnation of XL? I just took this bike apart to send the frame to the powder coater, and forgot you have to pull the heads to get the motor out of the frame. I think with this bracket gone, I might have been able to leave the heads on.
thanks,

It might be for a Sportster XLH seat or rear gas tank mount.
On a CH, that would be the top motor mount for the rear head...post '77 that is.

Uh Prez, don't think so. Rear top motor mount looks like this:

Goes between both heads. Connects to that tube to the left of that bracket in the pic. This is all I can find in any of the ironhead parts manuals I can find.
And here is where the rest of the stuff go on the frame:

All the holes/mount points in the frame are accomodated, except that one on the bottom side of the seat mount.
Hmm. The mystery continues...

Looks like a bracket for a gas maybe fatbobs? I took my motor off by laying it down on the primary side guy
I used it for a solo seat as a pivot point , had springs on the back
