Title: Un used VE areas
Post by: Harley Pilot on August 02, 2020, 07:20:23 AM
So how relevant are the values in the areas of the VE table you never reach? IE the upper right and lower left. And also what is the best way to go about extending columns/rows.

Thanks,
Porky.

If you use the flight recorder/VCI data record/log to get as much accurate data as possible, in the same way you will ride the bike, you should be ok blending via copy/paste (of valid data) 1 or 2 rows/columns outside of the captured area.
I have had guys report issues, because they did their data recording runs solo, and had issues with a passenger, bags & gear, so loaded down. IF you're always solo, you can do your autotune basic/smart tune/Vtune solo and be adequate. If you will have a passenger, then do recordings two up. If you may tour, with "all the stuff", then do the recordings that way. I've found (absent a dyno, where it's easy to hit the majority of cells) that loading "all the stuff" with the usual passenger, and riding hills & neighborhoods hits enough cells, enough times, to make a decent map within two to three iterations.
You can't get valid autotune VE data @ 6000 RPM/5% throttle, or 1000RPM/100% throttle- areas high & right, and low & left, on the VE table, just like warm up fuel, have to be manually adjusted using wideband sensor data.
