I puchased a new Andrews EV13 cam to go along with the Velva Touch lifters and the can looks like it is coated with a waxy substance. Should I remove that with mineral spirits before using the assembly lube?

Yes, it's probably cosmoline.

    That stuff will melt right off there with mineral spirits. Good call.  :up:
