Title: Excessive static on Ultra Classic Limited 2014
Post by: harleypapa on October 25, 2018, 01:32:42 PM
Guys, I hope someone can help me here.  I have a 2014 Ultra Classic Limited.  My CB radio has excessive static only on incoming transmissions.  Outgoing according to my fellow riders is crystal clear.  The module has been changed out.  If I shut the engine off the static goes away.  I replaced spark plugs and wires.  I changed out the headset and checked
all my grounds in the tour pak and in the front fairing.  I am not sure where to go next.  Any suggestions.

Check the routing of the antenna wire under the tank- make sure it goes up the right side of the tunnel ( furthest from the coil/plug wires). While there, ensure the front coil wire is isolated from the frame ( clips should hold it clear)
Also check antenna connection behind the seat/in front of the tour pack for corrosion. Verify the ground on the shell of the antenna where it mounts on the tour pack.
