The S&S pistons for the 97 or 98 3.928 and 3.938 domes are very close and will work verified by clay checking with .040 head gasket.

Do you have the Harley factory service manual?  It will give you the procedure. You may have missed something.

Shovel Head / Re: Belt drive toasted
Last post by DA71FX - Today at 01:41:23 PM
It appears that shorter primary bolts were used. It took a little time, but I have been able to figure out that this was a Primo 14mm belt drive with a 24-tooth front pulley and a 37-tooth clutch basket. I have never had an issue with 8mm belt drives in the past, but I have only run 3-inch and 2-inch open drives. I was opening this up and was expecting to find a chain, but instead was treated by that mess. So now I get to decide if I am going to clean it all up and replace the belt or put the entire primary drive back to stock with a chain. this was one of the nicer shifting shovels I have owned and it was a piece of cake to find neutral

General / 2013 FLTRX tank removal
Last post by harleywillie - Today at 01:34:19 PM
Good day, removing the tank to run wires for an amp to battery, I disconnected the fuse for the fuel pump, but I still hear the pump when I went to purge it. All it did was turn over, it did not start, but don't want to unplug it while I still hear the pump. Should the line be purged if I run the starter for two cycles of about eight seconds each ? Thanks

If you can't find the clutch springs info, let me know, as I have a chart I made several years ago of some Harley, and aftermarket.

FWIW up in the "Sticky posts" there's a thread on clutch spring color codes that you might find interesting. Towards the end there's a chart with different spring part numbers, pressure etc.

On my 2010 FXDC I swapped out the stock "standard lite spring" for the "standard early  spring."
