Title: SE jet kits Evo vs. Twin Cam?
Post by: Finn on January 03, 2020, 11:06:15 PM
It looks like there are two (or more) jet kits available for CV40 carburetors:

29045-97B for Evos
and
29604-00A for Twin Cams

Do you by any chance know if the needles in these two kits are different?

If I'm not mistaken we used a TC kit (only one in stock) in my Evo and perhaps this possible needle difference is the reason for rich AFR from 2000 to 4000 rpm.

Much obliged.

So, emulsion tube and needle are the same between Evo and TC. Main differences are jet sizes and different spring. And as we had TC kit the E-clip was in #4 groove (TC instruction) instead of #3 groove (Evo).

The most important is to uncover idle jet and adjust.

Opinions vary widely, but this one is: it's rich because it's a Dynojet kit!

I don't have one on hand, have thrown them all in the trash, but I recall the Dynojet emulsion tube has less holes than OEM.

I've tried and removed several of these. Always went back to OEM parts. YMMV!

00 up twin cams have a different acceleration nozzle check valve in the float bowl. The 00 up kit does not come with the nozzle and check ball.
