Greetings,
I'm on a 2013 Switchback and currently running a V&H ProPipe w/ quiet baffle. Prior to the quiet baffle install, performance was good, but too loud. Since quiet baffle install, performance is neutered a bit, but volume is good.
Any recommendations for an exhaust that provides performance and low noise?
I kinda with ya there, I like the V&H pipes I have, baffles don't do much if anything, my solution was earplugs. :smilep:
I'd be interested in any options also, I was looking to install the quiet baffles also but don't what what little performance I have to suffer :pop:
I like my Supermeg.

I'd love to get the Fuel Moto exhaust, however after talking to Jamie, it does not fit the Switchback. Would you know if the slip on part would fit the Pro Pipe?
SuperMeg with the cap on it is very quiet.
You can drill a hole into the end of that quite baffle to help it breathe a bit better and still help with the noise, unless you looking for stock quite sound then as mentioned here other opinions are available,Everyone has a different sound they want, Just sayin
Also a retune would be suggested
I'm happy with my RB Black Hole; added a vortex cone and a turnout.
Have had different V&H pipes; RB is quieter and did better on dyno...

Do you have a sheet with the black hole? I've only seen one, have a mate that's interested in how it goes
Supertrapp.
The pipe, with added Hooker 4" turnout and a vortex cone inside
The only problem I have with those turn downs is the amount of dust and dirt they shoot up. I prefer the turn outs for that reason.
I ran an original White Bro's e-series for years. I now run the Fuel-Moto updated e-series 2 into 1. Performs well and sounds good. You still want it to sound like a harley. Good pipe.
I had a Supertrapp SuperMeg on my last bike; not too loud and you can adjust the sound. Good performance too.

I also went with a 2 into 1 from FM E serie, really quiet fit nicely i'm very happy a no brainer to me imo.
Supertrapp has got to be the quietest performance pipe.

just showed up on youtube 'recommended for me...'

I always found the Supertrapp to be the goofiest sounding thing at startup.
I'm pretty much through the sound thing. Unless it's a Shovel or older....
I made power and ran quiet with a RB Racing Blackhole on my 124.
I ran a supermeg and propipe. The supermeg will be quiet and will feel better in the lower R's.
The propipe beats in from the mid on up.
I like my supertrapp supemeg but it falls flat at 5000 rpm.20 disk.i dont like loud exhuast.dont like at iddle to.

I agree, I finally got rid of mine because I couldn't stand the sound of it LOL. It was definitely quiet & ran great but the sound really bugged me...

I doubt it's the pipe. I had one on my 113" TC made power to the limiter, 6200 rpm. Look at tune or the cam.
My 103 will run right through. Haven't set a limiter but it is on the list... :slap:
A reliable solo touring tune
Running the Kuryakyn Mellow's. They are supposed to be a quiet performance muffler but they are still a little loud for me. On a long trip/ride, i generally use ear plugs to quiet the drone or ear buds with music. No way I can comfortably hear the speakers due to wind and engine noise.
I have Screaming Beagle on my "not so power oriented" 106" lil' strokie. Taken off 110 CVO.
I know that they are not performance type. But i allready have hearing aid and tinnitus, both ears. And like hear music, i play saxes. Earlier i had Vance&Hines, but then i had wear ear plugs, not any more.
I wear ear plugs for the wind. Wish I had started earlier!
 same here.

One more for ear plugs.
IMO, the constant wind noise kills our hearing as much as loud exhaust.
More so. At least for me. I wound up with tinnitus at 6 or 7 due to a high fever. But my hearing loss is due to wind noise from motorcycles and loud noise from years of construction work. I wish I had started wearing hearing protection decades ago.

Ear Plugs! Keeping Harley top ends quiet for years!
^ THAT too! :hyst:

So was this performance difference prior and after baffle change a seat of the pants measurement and no tuning involved? And if so are you looking for better non-tuned, seat of the pants quiet performance in another exhaust system?
I'm starting to wear ear plugs a lot more often now, but holy moly when I forget them it sounds like my motor is coming apart.

LOL! I made the mistake of pulling them out when arriving in a town once :dgust: won't do that again!
Isn't that the truth. After riding for a couple of hours with earplugs, pull into town, take them out and oh my what a racket. What bugs me is you can open the hood of any U.S. made push rod V8 and barley hear a thing. Why can't Harley quiet down the mechanical racket their engines make. I like my bike but I absolutely hate the racket coming from the engine and i am not talking about the exhaust. I test rode both a Triumph and a Moto Guzzi when I bought my Slim. They were pretty quiet, especially the Triumph.

I have supertramp fat shots with 10 discs and they are not very loud
Fullsac slipon's. 2in have a nice mellow sound. Louder than stock but not nearly as loud as VH
