Title: Rocker Arm Bushings
Post by: carioux2008 on January 16, 2020, 05:41:54 PM
Just put some new rocker arm bushings in my original rockers, going to be using an adjustable pilot reamer (kingpin style reamer) to ream them to size. After that (my reamers aren't the highest quality) I plan on using a brush style hone to finish them up and get them to the right surface finish. My question is, will a 180 grit hone leave the proper finish on the bushings? Should be 30-40ra if that matters. The service manual doesn't state a surface finish but rather just clearance of .002"-.005". Thoughts?

I admire everyone that does their own work.
