Title: Vance and Hines collector to primary connection
Post by: donk_316 on May 14, 2021, 05:04:43 PM
Gents,
Should I get inside this collector and clip / smooth out the primary to collector transition?
Looks at this:

I ended up returning it.
I've had a few Vance and Hines pipes before without much issue but this... this might be the last one I'll ever buy.

Besides the ridiculous excuse for a collector...

The black "finish" on the heat shields is beyond fragile. A simple powder coat would be infinitely more durable.

The collector and muffler were both egg shaped and too two different kinds of muffler sealant to actually stop leaking.

Can not get a proper seal on the rear exhaust pipe. Chirp chirp chirp.

And the icing on the cake? This pipe sounds like ass. Like a cross between a farting dirt bike and a drag pipe.

This it the competition short 2-1 pipe.

Sorry to hear about your issues;  I'm quite surprised as I always believed V &H put out pretty high quality products without many quality control issues.  Is this a Pro Pipe ?  Also, I thought they sounded badass ....
