Title: What Is This Switch For?
Post by: Ohio HD on June 13, 2021, 07:54:52 AM
The bike isn't here, or I'd follow the wiring.

Guy sent this photo, it's located on the frame member just under the left side of the seat.

Is that maybe an add on volume control for something?

That's the control lever to adjust and release the driver's seat backrest if in place.  There is a cable to the backrest from there under the seat.  It makes it simple to fold forward when taking on a passenger too.  If you have from mounted heat shields for the rear cylinder you won't see it because it's in behind.

It's an OEM Harley part and probably means he has the mounting hardware under the seat for the removeable back rest.

Ohhhh.....   thanks KD. I've never seen one before.

So it wouldn't have done any good to be there and follow the non existent wiring....   but I would have been able to see where the cable went.

Thanks
