Post by: bladerunner on January 05, 2009, 03:58:30 PM
Progressive  shocks ,   for the touring series  ,I see the 412`s  and the 440`s   being used ....what about the 418`s ? I like the adjustable  rebound feature  any one try `em yet ?..............bladerunner

I use 418's on my FXDXT; I like the adjustability when riding solo or two-up. Can also soften 'em up for slab riding...
I went to the 418's from the stockers to lower it about 3/4" (also slid the front forks up 3/4" into the trees) so I could sit flat footed; esp handy backing out with a passenger and fully loaded bike.

I've had both the 418's and the 440's on my 05 Road King Custom and much prefer the 440's.  Part of the improvement is because the 440's are 12" and the 418's were 11-1/2".  I think the 440's are noticeably better.

Sharkoilfield, Nice FXDXT. I have a low mile 2001, I'm the second owner.
