Title: Barbed banjo bolt fittings
Post by: fxr4mikey on June 26, 2009, 04:21:22 PM

I want to put a catch can on my bike ... 1340 EVO

I'm looking for a couple of barbed banjo bolts that I can put onto the breather bolts, then hook a line, either 1/4 or 3/8, depending on which banjo bolts I can find, onto the barbed ends ...... then run those lines down to the catch can ......

anyone know where I can find what I'm looking for  ?

I've been all over Google and haven't found the right place yet   ....

Thanks for any and all leads !!

Mikey

Bud,
Never seen them made like that although they may be around. Any special reason why you want to do it that way? I adapted a DS chrome crossover to my S&S backplate very easily using the stock S&S supplied breather bolts. One 3/8" stainless braided line from the crossover to a filter under the trans ahead of the rear wheel. It's a real clean setup, there is also another kit available on fleabay that uses female banjo fittings with all 3/8" line. For a stock Jap carb, the SE kit is still available.

Check with Mikuni or a supplier that sells their stuff. I bought a Total Kit and it came with banjo type fittings. I use a catch can on my bike that I made out of some pvc fittings and put it under the glove bov in my right side lower on an Ultra. It could easily be frame mounted and hardly noticable if painted black. Can photograph it if interested.

DS and JP cycles offer a cross over with a single braided line cominig off the cross over ... I could run that down to the catch can...

I decided that I wanted to run a line off of each of the breather bolts ... I didn't like the idea that the cross over goes up (from the rear cylinder) to cross over to the front breather bolt.  I don't like the idea that some oil will not make it up and over the hump and therefore a potential problem on the rear cylinder.

I found a Mikuni breather kit (chrome) on ebay .... 20 bucks, it has two chrome banjo to hose fittings in the kit, just what I was looking for.

Thanks EVERYONE for the replies !!

I'll order a chrome braided fuel line kit, with chrome cover/clamps, cut it to size, mount the Jazz catch can on the left front down tube and be done with it .....

heck, I might even post up some pics when I get r done     :smiled:
