Title: Harley Trikes
Post by: flangar on November 25, 2008, 04:15:49 PM
Anybody at all looking at the new Trikes? Saw my first today....nice looking setup, thought I might be interested until I got the price...$39,000 plus, tax, title and setup. Apparently the dealer wants to keep it for himself or to take up floor space with it. No wonder sales are slow....

30k!!  Wow....worth every penny no doubt.  Good thing Harley didn't make any knuckel, pan or shovel trikes....or their market values would end up in the tank along with the bikes.

Who sez they never made Knucklehead trikes?

LOL... you beat me to it Chris!  I was gonna go digging for a pic of that trike.  Your pic is the best example I've seen.

You would be better off with a new Ultra and then doing a DFT conversion
much better suspension and you dont have to rake the front end to make it
go down the road

I believe that one of the reasons the Bagger frames were redesigned for 09 was because HD and the trike makers in Spearfish SD had been talking for years about doing an official Harley Trike. They finally came to an agreement that involved major suspension changes on the trike part and the front HD frame. There was a lot of engineering that went into the whole package. I'm not even sure if anyone else can do a conversion on an 09 yet, since the new frame has just been out a few months now.

If it rides and handles anything like the 09 bagger, it will be a real nice machine.
