We went over on Friday.................busy during the day, slowed right down at night. It was a great weather day as well, sunny and 90.
Very little traffic getting around, attendence is way way down from years past.................and there are a lot less vendors as well.

Rode down to laconia on Thur and Friday. Got to ride the 2010 CVO ultra and a street glide at the harley demo site. Weather has been great from thur-sun. Less crowds than previous years, but alot of rain has kept people away the past couple of years.

Glad to hear the weather was great because so often it has been spotty. Too bad for the locals who rely on tourists to make their biz go.

I went to Laconia last year for the first time (durring bike wk), crappy whether 2 of the 4 days there,, but had  agreat time with the friends I went with and had a lot of laughs.  Stayed right on Lake Shore Drive, one short walk to the "main drag". Been to Sturgis twice, Daytona, Myrtle, and many others.  I've been to the White Mnt. region numerous times over the yrs since the late 80's and early 90's so I'm familiar with the area.  I have to say Weirs Beach is not exactlly a tourist destination.  I mean, there's literally nothing there. Durring Bike wk. it's one long block of T-shirt tents.  There's a hand full of bars and restaurants, but that's it.  In comparison, I've been attending Lake Geo. for yrs (held the week before LACONIA), probably been there 12 times in the past 15 yrs, and the place is perfect for a morotcycle rally.  There's 5 or 6 long wide blocks (Canada St.) lined with bars, restaurants, shops, motels, you name it.  At night, downtown is a bike, classic car and anything on wheels show, crowds party on Thur/Fri untill 3-4 in the morning. Durring the day your out riding in the Adirondak Mts. and the scenery is almost if not as good as the White Mt. area.  Anyway, just my 2 cents on Laconia (and Lk. Geo), Laconia down't really have a down town bike scene (maybve I missed it?), and motels are scattered, so the people are as well...my observation.

Laconia!
The first motorcycle Rally I ever attended, and it's the oldest Rally!
The first time I went was in 1968, just before they shipped me off to Vietnam. Back then you could sleep at the Racetrack or along the main road going to the track. Those were some wild times! Back then, just the guys went and we left the gals home. In the late 70's, it got more mello so we finally took our lady's.
Living in New England (Until this year) made it a quick 160 mile ride to the event. In fact, two years ago I got married in Laconia! I've hit all the Major events in the last 41 years and enjoyed them all ....even the ones where I got Ticketed, Arrested and bailed out, and even the one I crashed in.

Didn't get a chance this year to ride over to "Lack of Everything" Bike week.  Doesn't sound like I missed much.  :missed:
