Got one that won't tighten and will back out on it's own, used to stay put but now she
will back out while riding... 09 RG, must say it's the only thing that has gone wrong.
Tired of buying screws from the dealer I have alot more things I need for the $1.80...
Heard of putting some type of epoxy in the hole of the faring and then screw in a
proper screw and let setup, what epoxy should be used.
Check out my reply in this thread. I think it's reply 2 or 3

Steve,
I've had to fix 3 screw holes on my 2002 RG. I just got a 2 part epoxy from one of the auto parts stores, let it set up, then screwed in a much smaller screw to start the hole at the right angle. Once I did that, I drilled out the epoxy a little, then slowly screwed in the stock screw. Slow process but it worked.
I always thought the EG's and their fairing screws were bad. At least you can easily fix the brass inserts. The RG is a terrible design with the screw going into the ABS or fiberglass or whatever it is on the outer fairing. Very poor design.
I went to a hobby shop and got a larger OD brass insert and installed it with epoxy. Did this on two locations and still holding.
You can also look into Harley's repair kit 16585-96. See instruction sheet J01733 in this site's HD instruction section.
My rework and the kit are for FLH didn't notice you had RG until after I posted. Not sue either of these will work for sure.
The center brass grommet popped out of mine, Jb welded it back in. Been holding good for 2 seasons.
i used gorilla glue
