Any creative methods for removing a stuck oil pressure relief valve that a magnet won't pull out and tapping on the cam plate doesn't help. Next will try application of some heat from a heat gun but nothing comes to mind if that doesn't work. Maybe a stonger magnet but don't know wherer to get one.
Find a wooden dowel or pencil ...put it inside the valve plunger and hold a bit of side force on it...that should work as you pull out
If HV's trick won't work, a 3/8-24 tap will bite into it. I had one so stuck I cut threads into it, screwed in a long bolt and had to pull and twist to remove it.
1500 grit paper on the od until it falls into the hole from it's own weight. Any stickiness of the plunger in the bore will cause erratic behaviour. Any of the mentioned extraction methods will work.

djl,
Is this for the guy on HDF that's dealing with this today?
Just have him come over here and benefit first hand.
use some air to blow it out. spray brake cleaner in the side the plunger goes in and then compressed air thru the top the type with rubber nozzle to get a good seal. I agree with Herko have him come over and get it first hand.

I used a drill bit a couple thou smaller than the I.D and did the same. 20 minutes earlier, the techs at the dealer were telling me sorry your gonna need a new one! :fish:
A screw extractor, the kind with the left hand twist, may also work.
