Title: 2000+ wheels on '97 soft tail? ??
Post by: MojaveMonster on April 06, 2012, 11:23:43 AM
Hello Y'all,  Im a new member with a '97 Soft tail Custom and a fairly new rider. Im interested in some new wheels designed for 2000+ F's and FX's. My question is what is different between the two generations? Do I need new axles? I've heared I need new rotors and sprocket /pulley but is there any thing else I need to think about.

Thanks for any help.

Edit: BTW, the wheels Im interested in are the DNA 52 Mammoth spoke wheels offered by Outlaw Cycle Products, 21x3 & 16x3.5 .

Can't really help you with too much, but I can tell you that both front and rear axles on my 2001 Fat Boy are 3/4", if that helps at all.
Plus a free bump to the top

Your best bet would be to contact them and let them tell you what's required to get those wheels on your bike.

Yeah, you're probably right. I spoke breefly to a dude down there the other day. He kind have made it sound like I had to use their rotors and pulley. Then mentioned something about the calipers. I'll have to call him again.

In the meantime I'm just trying to figure out what's what with set-ups.

Thanks for the help guys. 3/4" axle noted.
