No. Both my bikes quietly run stock original rockers and shafts with tw-8 cams.

Ever pull the rockers off and look at the rocker ends where they meet the valves after some miles?  Do you know when the cams were made??    You are definitely in the smaller part of the population as far as noise goes.. (or deaf..)

I have never had a need to remove the rocker covers, is there something in there I should be checking?.
As far as noise goes I have never had one person I ride with comment on the bikes having valve noise and one of the guys is mister genuine Harley parts only the dealer can do the work so he will call you out on every little thing. As for cam manufacture dates, motors were built 2009-10

As far as having to check something. I'd say no..   If you decide to pull the rocker arms for any reason,, Check the ends where the contact the valves... They can get a little chewed up as will the end of the valve. I wouldn't pull it down just to look tho.. IMO they sort of wear in.. When rebuild time comes, rockers may need replace.. Valves also (tho some just grind the stems)..  This is a common problem on all motors..

Were the motors pre-07 or later??

95inch Road king is a 2005 and the 110 inch motor started life as a 2007 Softail 96inch.

Heck yeah, might as well add some tambourines to the valve train band.    I'd pick a known quiet cam and run stock rockers.  I don't like or see a need for added noise..on the street. JMO,  Rick

Fueling 574 similar performance as the 8 with stock valve train noise, great slow speed manors. I'm very pleased!

Don thanks for sharing this very well kept secret much appreciated   :soda:

thanks for the info.   i'm looking at the 574, i'm going to put it together this weekend and see how it goes but i think the .650 lift and roller rockers are the issue? maybe it's normal noise but to loud for me   steve
