Bike runs great. List of small jobs so far but, to me, tinkering in the garage is half of what it's about.
Need the original handlebar cover and risers.
Great looking bike, I have a 1970 FLH...gotta love those Shovelheads.
Bob
That's a real nice FLH and it looks like you have the posting pictures thing worked out too.
that looks to be in real nice shape, congrats.
BOING!!!!!!!!!! :teeth:..........JER
WHAT???, where's the boxes of parts, greasy old parts that nobody can ID, and the stripped naked frame and buckets of bolts????
Someone bought a WHOLE FLH? WOW! :scoot:
Looking good there!
EASY
That bike has seen some love. Clean and simple is beautiful.
 Sweeeeet. Bill
Sweet2
Would you consider trading for my 1982 FXE. I really like those old wide glides.
Very good looking bike, looks like the previous owner took real good care of it, haven't seen one that nice for sale in a long time !
Keep it like it is and ride ,ride and ride. Those bikes are far and few now days.I had a 83FLH and my buddy had a 82 FLH Clasic. Those dressers with belts run great.Hope you enjoy it
Very nice.
Cheers chaps. Planning on keeping this one. Not too many about here in New Zealand. Still, not reached the status of an old Panhead yet so when they do come up they tend to be cheap (ish).

BEEEEEEEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! Looks an Awful lot like my 81 Police Special! (1 of 402 Built) The ONLY Bike EVER Stolen from me.
(Had the Right Everything on it, except the Hack the Toronto Police Dept. had on it when they Used it on Patrol....) I Figured
(at the Time) it was because I had Turned down some Pretty Serious Coin for it, and Someone REALLLLLY Wanted it. Sorta Kinda found out MUCH later, (Through my Ins. Co.) it was Stolen by a Ring that was Shipping a Shipping Container every 6 weeks to a Far away land......... Damn I Miss that old girl. Never could replace it, and I TRIED!!!!! Got rid of my 83 FLHT for my Twinkie.
(Found through that one, Not All Shovels are created Equal! :emsad:)Oh, Hope you don't mind me RE-Posting the Pic, I Just Love it!
Look After it Mate, she's a Stunner! I Feel Glad for ya!
Hey Congrats, got me an '82 FLH too. Good luck with it!!
the bike looks like crap and don't think you should be seen on it
give it to me and I'll save you
:)
Very nice looking bike Molly!
Is it belt or chain drive?
she's a beauty!! love old iron!
Welcome to the club.
Cheers lads. Final drive is belt by the way. Haven't looked at the primary yet (my last Shovel had a belt primary). Belt creaks and groans when you roll the bike around the garage. Bike had been stood nearly two years in storage after the Christchurch earthquake whilst the owner got a new garage built etc. Fired up OK and ran well.
Hope not to find it was ever a Canadian police bike.... Did you keep your VIN?

LOLOL No, I'd Have to ASS U ME it's Not. The Story I got from my Insurance Co. was they had Recovered Dozens and Dozens in an Eastern European Country following some Ring or something Like That. I Offered up the Pittance they Paid me to get it back in
ALMOST any Condition. Basically It Had to have ALL Numbers Still intact etc., and they just laughed and said, NEVER Going to happen. They would sell them at an auction over there, IF they had Not already Done so.....
I Did Have a copy of it out in the Shop, but with so much going on, and so many Changes made, I'm Not 100% SURE I could come up with it.
(Although I KNOW it IS Out there Somewhere...) I Do Remember the Last couple of Digits though. I had Been to some VERY Nasty Places Looking for it, even was Trying to Buy it Back, but the One Place a Buddy of mine would NOT give me directions too, is Most Likely The Place they were shipping them From. His words, "It's ONLY a Piece of Metal, NOT Worth Dying over" He Sorta Kinda knew of the Guy from the Armed Camp he had Not far from his own Place. No Name Ever came out, and YEARS later, he told me where the Place WAS, Long Gone by that time. Had been Raided and Shut Down Following the Bust the Ins. Co. had told me about......
the Last Three on the VIN, was what I Wanted to Use to get it Back, 308. Was Never a Real Gun nut or anything, but I had an old Lee En-field (sp?) Rifle, and just thought that a 308 Would have been a Bigger Gun..... Don't Know even to this day if there even IS Such a Weapon! LOLOL
Anyways, That's The Story of Where they all went. Oh, the Night mine was Stolen, there were FIVE Other Bikes Stolen that night too. SIX altogether. FIVE were from the Same Ins. Office!!! Same Lady who wrote Mine, had Four Others Stolen the Same Night. SHE Claimed it was PURE Coincidence, I claimed, BULLSHEET! Again, Never heard Much more from That either. Besides, I would Guess it would be Pretty hard to PROVE, not Claim an Inside Job........
ENJOY That New Ride my Friend, it IS a Real Beauty!!!
Cheers.
Sorry your bike got lifted. I used to worry about my local HD dealer's database. All those addresses with bikes. Give my work address for everything these days.
Beautiful bike, heck-u-va find.
Primary is likely chain, and you should leave it that way unless your gonna run a primary belt vented or open. Closed up they don't last long.
About the only thing I might change would be going to drilled rotors the next time it needed rubber.
Very very nice. Really looks like a well maintained scoot. Congrats and enjoy
FYI what you got there is FLH Classic - Final Belt Drive. The non-Classic are Final Chain Drive.
By the way, do you have the eagle emblem on the front fender?
No. Front feeder has an 80 emblem. I should take a few more pics. Cheers.
He means an eagle emblem up farther from the edge, not on the "bumper" that says "80." Assume you don't have it then or you'd have seen it. I've got a hole in my fender where it used to be.
No. Don't have the emblem. No guarantee it's the original front fender I suppose.
Been tinkering away in the garage today. In the process of moving house so there's a limit to how much I can tear off right now. Just lubing cables and small jobs like that. In my element... :teeth:
No. Damn! Somebody's nicked it....
Do all '82 baggers get that? FLT's too?
If so, someone took it off mine and put one of those eagles with the lighted eyes in it's place.
At least it's the HD one and not that cheezy looking aftermarket one from JC Whitney.
she is a beauty
All I gots is a hole and an outline in the paint where my emblem used to be.
