Title: reflex linked brakes with ABS on 2014
Post by: bigfoot5x on September 13, 2013, 12:57:32 PM
I was just reading the latest issue of HOG magazine and saw that some of the 2014 Touring bikes have a linked braking system. The front and rear brakes are linked for most efficient stopping. It works only above 20 to 25 mph so that the front brake is not accidentally applied in slow speed riding. I've seen lots of info on the new fairing and infotainment center as well as twin cooling but this is the first I heard or saw about the brake change. It is standard on the StreetGlide Special, Ultra Classic and Ultra Limited. It is a factory option on RK's and the regular Streetglide.

There was a guy with a post not too long ago wanting info on linked brakes for his wife. Looks like he can earn some brownie points and just buy her a new bike.

I remember the post, but his wife had the most issue with slow speed maneuvering in grass, gravel, etc. If they only have the linked operation over 20 or 25 MPH, probably wouldn't help her unfortunately.

Ahh...you are right. I forgot. I thought of  him when I read the article because I was one of the people that suggested the wife take a "Ride like a pro" course, which was not advice he wanted to hear.
