Maybe asked before but i'll ask anyway. Leaking where regulator plugs in the primary, im running ATF in Primary do you think adding a seal swell additive would help any or could it damage anything?
Don't ad seal swell. I was able to stop mine from leaking by actually pushing an O-ring in there from the outside. Some have had good luck with flowable silicone windshield sealer (orielly sells it). If you google search, and search here, you will come up with info on various fixes.
The O-ring fix on mine was the same O-ring that is used for the drain plug on my Dyna, and I slipped it over the "stub" coming out of the inner primary and stuffed it in under the aluminum using a popsicle stick. I also put some Hylomar (permatex permashield #85420 is same stuff at Orielly also) sealer on the actual electrical bullet connectors before I reconnected them. Sometimes the leak is from there being wicked out.
The O-ring repair lasted for two years and then I bit the bullet and replaced the stater with a cycle electric just before a 1300 mile trip. It still was not leaking, I just wanted to get it replaced before the trip. YD
Thanks yankee dog, I know im going to have to fix it right just trying the easy way out. I thought maybe the seal swell might swell up the rubber plugs , just dont know if it will mess with the clutch discs.
I held a leak at bay by cleaning the stub off with brake cleaner, then smearing a nice pile of Hylomar around it. Kept it to a managable damp spot until I could replace the stator. Then used Hylomar on the new plug, and never had a leak from there again.

Yes, when I installed my new stator, I could not get the new plug to slide through the hole in the inner primary. I tried castor oil (was suggested) and did not help. Out of desperation, I smeared Hylomar (permashield) on the plug and slipped right in :embarrassed:.
The added sealant around the plug probably didn't hurt either. YD
