i'm trying to figure out what all is involved in converting to o2 sensors on a 03 deuce.  all the info i can find is for 05-06 models.  i recently purchased a dual tts system.  i've been tuning my 07 deuce with excellent results and would like to get started on the 03.  would i just need to get the newer ecm the just follow the procedure for 05-06?  the nearest dyno tuner i trust is over 350 miles away so i would definitely prefer doing this myself.  any help is greatly appreciated.  the 03 is my wife's bike and i'd much rather have her doing  :bike: instead of  :gob:

On an 04 you can upgrade to the 05 ecm and do the conversion but not on the earlier bikes, I have seen some post that people have said that they converted the earlier bikes but it seemed to require quite a bit of re-wiring (to complicated for this country boy anyway)

Me too, have a 02Fatboy!
Steve Cole said he might have something on this by fall......hoping it happens.
Maybe he will respond on this thread.

This is from Steve

"Whomever "Everybody" is they are wrong. The only replacement ECM you can get from HD is the late ECM. When you use that ECM in the 2001 - 2004 bikes you must also update to 127 software to make it work properly. The Speedometer is hard wired in those model years. I run both ECM's for testing on our 2002 Softail here all the time. 2001 - 2003 are wired one way and 2004 is wired different. I have only tested using O2 sensors on the 2004 and up model years and that's what's in our manuals. I may get time over this coming winter to try O2's for the 2001 - 2003 but will not recommend that anyone does it until after we have figured out what has to be done. I've got a few tricks up my sleeve that MAY be able to get them up and working but until I get the time to try it I cannot say."

thanks for the edit fatboy.  i'm wondering if the pins couldn't just be switched around to make it work.  either way, i think i'll wait to hear more from steve cole on the subject before i change anything.  looks like i'll be taking it to the tuner this winter, not necessarily a bad thing.  just wanted to tune myself first and see how close i could get it
