I bought a 2012 Ultra with Von Braun pipes.  They sound good, but I can't stand the look of the end caps.  They measure 3 7/8 where the holes are located on the end caps.

Has anyone adapted or modified a universal end cap?   I could leave them off but it looks short and incomplete.  I called the manufacturer and I can't find anything that I care for.  I just want a basic chrome end cap.

Thanks for the ideas.

I think they look just fine off as well.  To me they do not look too short and look too long with the caps on.  And yes I can see why you cant stand the look of the caps.

Everyone wants to change the world but, no one wants to change the toilet paper.

Tips that stick out past the bags that far are good for making scabs on your ankles.  :crook:  Ask anyone that has used the SE fishtail tips. They are about as long as yours with the tips on. Why not trim yours off? you aren't going to use them that way. You can mask off all but the last bit, give them a scuff and apply a hot black paint to make them look custom and store bought.

I have had my machinist buddy cut mufflers for me on his horizontal feed band saw plenty of times but not the end caps ,he modified those in a lath. I would not hesitate  to cut the ends off in a band saw with the correct blade speed and drop action your chrome will stay put if its a quality plating. Then have them put them in a lathe and tapper the inside end so its not some thick ass end your looking at if ya get my drift what ya have to lose. If the chrome mess's up clean up the damage and powdercoat or paint the tips black . wrap the tips with masking tape to keep from scratching them and to help hold the chrome in place were the saw will cut.

Compare the body diameter to a stock muffler. If it is the same perhaps Fulsac would part with a couple end caps from their re-core kits.

I am an adult?? When did that happen, and how do I make it stop?!

Wow, I reckon those tips look great. I can see how they would standout on a stock bike, though. So, 3 7/8" tips fit into 4" mufflers??? Shouldn't be too difficult to find something you like.
google harley 4" exhaust tip

blacknightrain

Thats what I was thinking.  Maybe a regular 4" tip would work?  Thanks for all the suggestions, I even thought about putting rivets in the holes to make them look better.

Hossamania

At least they went subtle with their nameplate....

What ever it is worth I measured the stock muffs on my 2016, and the measure right at 4" OD. If you measure 3-7/8" the Fulsac caps wuold be 1/8" too large. They would fit, but not tight and a gap might show. Only you can decide!

I measured mine again.  It looks like they are 3 7/8 ID and 4" OD.  Maybe I'll take one of the end caps to the local Stealer and compare.
