Guys,

Looking for a basic plain old cover to put over my zippers air filter. I just want something to cover the end of the filter leaving the element exposed.
It has to be metal as I will have it powder coated. Anyone know where to look for a basic cover that isn't over priced?
Ive already scoured ebay with no luck.

Thanks

Merc, I had the same Zippers setup on my Baisley 95". I had a local shop flo-jet a piece of 1/8" aluminum to the diameter ot the air cleaner, then had it powder coated gloss black. I sold the engine with-out it, if you're interested in it let me know.

Not sure how handy you are but it's pretty easy to make one out of the stock football cover. Made one for a buddy. I cut as much as I could with a cut off wheel and tin snips. After that I put a bold backwards through the hole and put it in my drill press. Then I put a file in the drill press vise and slowly worked it till it was round. Only took a few beers to get it dialed in just about perfect . Cost 0 dollars and didn't even have to paint it after.

Sorry for the crappy picture. I asked my buddy to send me a better picture . I'll post it when I get it.

Nic,

That looks pretty good. Unfortunately I don't even have the stock cover anymore. I'd rather just buy something done however.

Thanks

I agree. I think that looks the best. I just don't have the skill to do that, or the patience.

That's exactly what mine looks like too 03nhharley after I put it on the Mexican mill. My buddy told me everybody asks him where he got it. He rodetthrough Canada / Montana with us and it rained on us hard for 4 days straight.  The inside of the motor has never been cleaner ... good steam cleaning
