Looking for input for the best plug and play LED replacement for a stock taillight on a 2016 Ultra Classic.  Everything is LED but the taillight, wanting to upgrade and if there are any that are programmable to strobe/or flash when brakes applied?  As usual appreciate all and any info.......

Thanks,

Radiantz makes one with or without the strobe. You could get the the one without the strobe and add a Signal Dynamics XP or wig wag module connected to you brake and tourpac brake light. That'll get some attention.

I don't have these but have been considering them.

I have a smoked/laydown Kuryakyn LED unit.

I don't know if it's the best, but I have had a few comments on how bright it is.
(I've had it on 3 different bikes now)

The vehicle code here says the rear tailight and brake light cannot be "glaring". I've ridden behind the Bright Ass Lights at night. They are f'ing glaring!

True, they can be, but it depends upon how the owner programs the unit. The tail light function can be set to 3 different intensity levels, and the brake light function can be set to 23 different patterns/intensities. The instructions plainly state which settings are DOT/FMVSS compliant. The light is programmed by tapping the lens with a special magnet included.

Riding around Houston during the day, that light has saved my ass more than once!

Often I get the "Where the hell is that Cop?"

I have been told During the day and a mile away at a stop sign, You can see MY flashing Red Light... That friend was shocked that he could see me that far away... AND Really  SHOCKED  when I told him the $$$$$$$...

Worth every $ spent for "Safety Wise" on my 09 King and Nothing needs added for SEEING ME...

+1 for the BAL tail light! Expensive but many times ive had a guy tailgating me and one tap of the brake sets him back at least 4 car lengths like I was a cop or something.

I have had good luck with Custom Dynamics products.  Sometimes you can even fins factory seconds on Ebay.  Usually it's a defect in the lens.

BAL is the way to go. Got mine from flea bay at a good price. Downloaded instructions fro BAL web site and bought a magnet from Radio Shack to program light. Even if I didn't find one on flea bay, I was going to bite the bullet and buy new. Just cannot beat that light for safety.

Has anybody tried the BAL turn signal/accessory lights? T-3 Auxiliary light

Outerlimits

As said the BAL are pricey.....but if they only prevent one rear end collision with your bike, you got your money back. With all the distracted Cage drivers out their, Phones, Texting, reading books, doing make up, messing with the navigation screen, I'll try anything to help keep them from rear ending me. I have been down once from a rear end collision, walked away with a bruised kidney, and a lot of road rash. Bike wasn't so lucky. Totaled.  Would it have made a difference???Who knows. I do know this......they give me a lot of room when we stop at a light, and they back off my rear when I hit the brakes, so I know it gets their attention. That's all I can hope for.

Snowyone

I sprung for the BAL.  Lights on the rear are the #2 thing on the list when I get a new to me bike.  BAL fits the bill as the best I've seen and the programed flash gets attention.  Also got Auto Gem lights on the end of the struts and LED turn signals that also work as marker lights.  Not so keen on the LED turn lights so am going to do some changing there.  The guys I ride with say they are bright but hard to see unless they are a strait on shot.

Great Comments!!!!  Thanks All......First Day of Bikeweek Daytona, be cautious.

Have this on my Softail, expensive?  Yes, but when you see how people behind you react it is worth every penny!  Of course there are cheaper alternatives out there and I am sure they will work to, lots of options to choose from so make your choice.  Just make the change, it is worth whatever you decide to go with!!

If you don't want to spend 200 bucks, you can add on a bright led. Go to police or emergency light site and see what you like. You can spend anywhere from $20 and up. I like the fed Sig micro pulse 3 for an extra brake light or a sound off sisignal Ghost brake/tail light. Lots of options out there
