96 sportster trans question

Got a friend with 96 sporty.Looks to be some sort of vent hose coming from transmission area.Alot of gear lube coming out of the hose especially under hard acceleration.Any ideas?

Is the primary/trans over full? There is a vent hose, routes up under the oil tank and ends up high under right rear frame horn. I believe a '96 holds 32oz.

Yes, check the routing.
It should be routed up towards and under the seat, then back towards the rear fender.  Mine exits at the top rear corner of the oil bag, between the oil bag and the rear fender.

That's where it's routed up under the seat to right rear.I haven't got the bike here at present but it will be here tomorrow and I'll check oil level.
