Softail Gas Tank

I hope this is in the right forum, but I am trying to find out if a 99 Fat Bob gas tank (6 gal flat side two piece) can be easily mounted on a 2000 Softail. If not, does anyone make a 6 gal Softail tank ? I have a 2000 Heritage Springer.
