Done 20 SE 110 drop on's,had 2 issues with cylinders not being straight, but never a ring issue.
Top rings fit fine, come in rite in the middle of gap spec or had to file fit. Second ring spec is .014 to .024 both came in @ .026
So call dealer order another set, same issue, second come in @ .026.
Call my Fantastic dealer & order another set same issue.
Dealer calls HD, tech line said go ahead & install it will be fine! That's not happening!

So my ?, Anyone else have this issue?
Have to much money & time with decking cylinders not to use what we have.
Anyone else make rings that will work with the Mahle pistons?
Any other options, Change pistons? Who else makes a flat top piston that will work with the 110 drop on's ?

Thanks gents

Time to break out the plates and map the holes before condemning the rings. Mahle QC is very good.

It's Harley QC. Spec's on the left sheet is what I was going by, stopped by the dealer tonight & had them pull a set of directions from another kit! There's the difference.
And yes there the same piston kit part# direction sheet.
Done many of these never an issue before.

Ok now put the rings in 1" up from the bottom and compare

Ok.
But what's up with the different spec's? Pic on the right is the measurement for the pic of the piston pic 3 months ago.
Spec's on the left are from a customer bought kit a month ago.
They changed gap spec's in 3 months?
Just following spec's given.

Slightest variance in bore dia has a huge effect on ring gaps. Measure piston skirt and 0 the bore gauge. You will have your answer real fast.
