Welcome Sam.  I lived in Amsterdam for several years and have been to the Normandy area, Paris (of course), and the south (Provence). Particularly liked Gordes, Ansouis and Lourmarin.  I could roam around down there for a long time.  Wonder if you're anywhere near?
