Pref-form canister filters

Has anyone used the pref-form canister filter? Was wondering if it restricting the oil flow they say it's a 5-10 micron filter. I have a 2004 1200r I believe the factory filter is a 30 micron. Also I like that it will the cap comes off to make a cleaner oil change.
