The first dynotune was a cheap bodge job so this time I took the bike to DynoJet UK at Garstang near Preston.
The pinging would not go away no matter what he did. Adding large amounts of fuel, retarding the tining as far as it would go - nothing helped. Rather than abort the tune until the problem could be fixed I opted to continue, after all, the bike had been making that racket for a long time! The possible causes will be for another post unless something turns up here. But it is a lot quiter now.

First, fuel table 1 and fuel table 2 ARE different! The ignition tables have very minor differences.

1999 MM EFI PCIII USB, Supertrapp 2:1 with 10 discs closed end cap, Andrews gear drive TW21 cams, HD Stage 1 download.
3.25:1 5th gear due to 31 tooth Baker steel transmission pulley.
1942 WLA45 chop, 1999 FLTR(not I), 2000 1200S
