Does anyone else have noisy clutch chatter, while idling on the Rushmore bikes? I had a tech tell me it's pretty common, has anyone found a cure for it, I know you can tighten the primary chain and it will go away, but than the chain is to tight.

I can't answer about the clutch chatter being normal. It's possible that the bevel springs for the compensator are getting weak. Sometimes all that's needed is adding a couple of 0.031" shims that HD sells. I believe the recommended maximum is two shims.

You can also read about checking the height across the springs to see if they needed shimmed. Mr. Joe Lyons posted this some time back.

  That's a great link to a good tech article.  It's solved a lot of problems for members here.  Including myself with cam lope knock.
