I temporarily put a set of liquid cooled heads on an air cooled 103 (107) and plumbed oil through them. It's close to 11:1 with a crane 296, 200 ccp. Tuned with TTS and twinscan II, not wanting to waste $$ on dyno tune because it's coming back apart whenever I get my good heads back from being loved on. Just wondering what's normal as far as air-cooled engine temperature, it's running upper 260's fully warmed and 90 degrees out. I deleted all the data I had from before awhile back.

My 124 TC air cooled shows 234°F engine temp. This was on August 17, so the temperatures were probably upper 80's or lower 90's and humid.

11.3 compression, about 200 ccp.

This one was my 107 TC, set up at 10.5:1 compression, around 190 ccp. This was when I was tuning it. I'm not sure what was going on with the head temps, but the engine temp shows as 225°F.

This was October the 20th, so cooler temps out.

My 2011 120" 11.3:1 compression at 205 CCP runs about 235F when hot as seen on a temperature gun.  I expect there may have been times it was higher in a funeral parade or traffic.

Where/how are you measuring temps? I have my power vision mounted to the bars on my old bagger. It's a mild 117" (195ccp) it'll read 260-270 ET on hot days, but that measurement is coming from the front head. I asked Jamie at Fuel Moto about it years back and he said the high side of normal when measuring ET at the head is 330* I just went back through my emails to verify that.

My 120 (11.3:1CR, TM662-1) would hold mid 260s during the commute in mid August.
Ignorance is bliss, and accuracy expensive. How much of either can you afford?

Thanks for the replies, yes I'm asking about what guys see the ECM saying, not an external measurement. It doesn't feel like it runs too hot, just wondered if it's within an acceptable range. It was something to do and see what happens, runs nicely with no problems but I'll be glad when I get the good heads back:)

Not much warmer than my 10.8:1 113".
