Is it really true that this engine has a 4.060" bore, which makes std 4" bore head and base gaskets useless?

Yes, 4.060 bore x 4.625 stroke. Base gasket # is 16736-04A, head gasket # is 16104-04.
Ignorance is bliss, and accuracy expensive. How much of either can you afford?
