Help with sprocket/rotor spacer, please

I'm getting a bit frustrated, so I might as well just stop and reach out for help.  It's a 2004 Dyna.  As part of the S&S 106" stroker build, I'm also doing the Screamin' Eagle sprocket bearing Timken conversion.  Everything is going well, but I'm not sure what spacer I need.  In looking through my computer I found the following file, which I believe I got here on HTT.

Model-specific Sprocket Spacer.

99-05 Dyna use P/N 24038-99A,  .888"
2000  Softail use P/N 24038-99A, .888"
01-06 Softail use P/N 24039-01A, .988"
99-06 Touring use P/N 24008-99, 1.095"
06-later Dyna, 07-later Softail and 07-later Touring models use P/N 11887,   1.095"

I don't have enough info in the file to let me know for sure if these are spacers for when you do the Timken conversion.  ...think so, but not sure.  I think this was posted by someone here on HTT as a guide.  So, my complete question is...

The Dyna had a [relatively thin] bearing spacer behind the rotor spacer when I took it apart.  Which new spacer (including part #) do I use?  I'm assuming I do NOT use the bearing spacer I took out, right?  Thanks.

Likely not helpful at all, Les but do you not have the HD printed instructions for the new SE bearing conversion? (or did I misunderstand something?)

HD instructions usually state on the first page when part(s) not provided in kit that you will need "one of the following (spacers, screws, bolts, etc) based on your own measurements".
We're all A-holes. It's to what degree that makes us different.

Wouldn't use you just use the same spacer as a 2002 Dyna? They have a factory Timken bearing.

24038-99A is the correct spacer. As far as the rotor spacers, those are only used if necessary for proper rotor clearance, and the 29960-91 spacer sits between the rotor and the shaft extension for primary chain alignment.
Ignorance is bliss, and accuracy expensive. How much of either can you afford?

24038-99A...thanks.  Also, sorry about my poor terminology.  When I said rotor spacer, I was referring to the 24038-99A.  When I said bearing spacer, I was talking about the large washer that sits right next to the previous roller bearing.

Both thrust washers, race, and bearing are all removed/discarded when using the Timken roller setup.

Thanks.  I feel much better when I triple check.

Just a note about the endplay.  The bearing kit came with a 9128 and had .006" endplay on the simulator.  The 9127 gave (a not so easy to get) .003" endplay.  I've done alot of Timken conversions and also native, but never had so much endplay at each end of the spectrum, on the simulator.  Good thing I went with the 9128, because the .006" shrunk down to .003" endplay on the actual S&S flywheel sprocket shaft.  If I had used the 9127, I might have ended up in trouble.  Took me a while this time to make my decision on the spacer.

Thanks again for the help.  I can always count on you guys.

IIRC, there were issues early on with some Twin Cam compensator sprockets coming loose. I fixed that by taking .050" off the spacer.
Fast forward from that time, I've always modified/shortened the spacer, when needed, with A piece of carbide. They cut like butter.

These are the spacers to use when doing a Timken conversion:
Timken spacer
03-05 DYNA 24038-99A EMC A-24038-99 Drag 0950-0230
03-06 SOFTAIL 24039-01A EMC A-24039-01A Drag 0950-0229
03-06 TOURING 24008-99 EMC A-24008-99 Drag 0950-0228
06-UP ALL 11887 EMC 40-0149 Drag 1106-0074

The first number is the H-D p/n, EMC # is for Eastern MC Parts, and the third number is for Drag Specialties

Thanks for that table of info, Speedy.  I'll make a copy and keep for the next time.
