I recently spent some time on the side of the road because another rider had a blow out. My Street Glide Special has a battery that is 2 years old. After the flashers had been on for about 15 minutes I began to wonder how long the flashers could run before the battery would not start the bike. Anybody have any idea?

Realizing the difference in the years of the Bikes...
A few years back one of My Riding Buddies broke down on the New Jersey Turnpike.
I was on My 1994 FLHTC and had the Flashers on for about 1 1/2 hours.
The Battery was about as old as Yours, and the Bike started no problem.
Another time on I-93 in New Hampshire, one of the Guys broke down and I had the Flashers on for right about the same time..
I was on My 2003 FLHTCU.
That Battery was between 2-3 years old if My memory is correct.
Again, the Bike started with no problem.
On both of those occasions, other Guys with Us kept going over and starting their Bikes about every 15 minutes just to be on the safe side.
I never did, and they both started up just fine.
I still carry a Small Jump Box with Me just as a precaution.
I haven't had to use it yet.  Hope that I just didn't put the Hex on Myself.

Try a little "Investigative Research" for Yourself.
Provided that You have a Battery Charger.
Put the Flashers on and see how long You can go before it won't start, if You're up for that.
Other than that...I honestly couldn't tell You.

Bulbs or LEDs? I've let my LED headlight on for over an hour, and the bike started easily. The battery was about a year old.
Going down that long, lonesome highway. Gonna live life my way.

Working on 20 watt globes, and 50% flashing rate duty cycle,
in theory a healthy 28AH battery should last around 8 hours, and then be almost dead.
The trick is knowing when the capacity drops below the ability to start !!

To be safe, an older battery should be OK for over an hour , and LED without load resistors
would last a lot longer .

Thanks everybody. I guess I was just being overly cautious.
