25284-08 Cam Plate with Gear Drive Cams on earlier bike

What is the problem with the new cam support plate  25284-08 on the older bikes with gear drive cams?  Someone said there was an oil passage problem, For gear drive you block off the hydraulic tensioner oil supply. Will the new plate work with the old gear drive cams or will the cams have to change?

   Yes, you've got it. Just block off the passages to the hydraulic tensioners and use your old gear drive cams. I've done a couple of them.
