Have a bike in that I got running for a fellow and now he wants to sell it. It's pretty rough, been sitting for 3 years with tranny stuck in 2nd. Got it running and shifting, now I need to know what it's worth in the real world. I'd like to buy it for a shop mule but don't wanna be too upside down in it and I KNOW he probably *thinks* it's worth more than it really is. I looked at NADA and they only go back to '95.

Thanks for any input,

Dale

well Dale, did you make him an offer?  my thoughts $2,500-$3000 if I was buying, add a grand if I was selling

Only sayin', but just grabbed an '82 Iron XL, in NICE shape for 700.00.
Right place, right time thing.

In Detroit, 2500 would be the max that bike would bring.  Newer rubbermount 883's are less than 5 grand here.
