A friends 06 FLHX, blown motor, his fault for beating the hell out of it ....
Another friend has a stock 07 ZFLHX 96" motor & trans he will sell the other cheap enough.

Can the 07 96" motor & trans be installed into the 06 frame without major issues ??
If so, any issues with Electricals, ECM & Fuel Inj ?

Thanks

The engine itself will not bolt onto the 06 trans, but I am pretty sure that the entire drive train from the 2007 model will bolt right into the 2006 frame . The 96" features a larger throttle body, 02 sensors, a different ECM software and related wiring harness differences.
He can run the 96 engine with the 06 ECM and TB in open loop. I would definitely give it a shot. If he can get the head pipes with the 02 bungs, he can later on convert to the closed loop version with not too much trouble.
